Each new year presents us with an opportunity: a chance to look back and reflect, as well as a chance to look ahead and dream. Standing in the first days of 2025, the start of a new quarter-century, it seems right to consider the opportunities in front of us, take stock of where we’ve been, and anticipate where we’re going.

As 2024 came to a close, the Murdock Trust team had an opportunity to pause and reflect on some of the heavy lifting we’ve done recently to renew our approach to serving the nonprofit community of our region, including our updated grants management system and sectoral model. Looking ahead to 2025 promises to be no different as we continue to gather feedback, engage more deeply with the communities we serve, and assess our impact with an emphasis on ensuring we are maximizing our efforts to serve the common good.

We are also excited to celebrate in this coming year, as 2025 marks the Trust’s 50th year of partnering with the nonprofit community of the Pacific Northwest.

As we considered five decades of partnership in this region, we remain deeply grateful for the incredible work of thousands of nonprofits that advance work focused on the common good and embody values core to the work of the Murdock Trust. Looking to the future, we are inspired by the outstanding innovation happening in the nonprofit sector. As we honor Jack Murdock’s legacy, this dedication, impact, and innovation are our stepping stones into our next fifty years. A future in which we hope to see more and more people able to build healthy and resilient lives, thriving in flourishing communities.

We are so excited to welcome you into a year-long celebration that explores fifty years of legacy and innovation throughout our region. Stay tuned for special content, new ways to engage, and chances to connect with our team in your home state. Join us as we trace Jack Murdock’s legacy throughout the Pacific Northwest and in doing so, celebrate yours and the future we are building together.

Ring out the old and ring in the new with us as we enter 2025 and fifty years of partnership!
