We often talk about the promise of the nonprofit sector and its ability to serve the common good by providing opportunities for every individual, family and community to flourish and thrive. While it is easy to think about the nonprofit sector in broad, abstract terms, the real impact of the millions of individuals who work and volunteer with the tens-of-thousands of organizations serving the diverse needs of the Pacific Northwest can be found on a personal level.

The true promise of the nonprofit sector is its ability to change lives, one at a time.

Lives change through hot meals and a safe place to sleep. Lives change through education and mentorship. Lives change through healing. Lives change when members of a community come together to support those in need.

In this video, we had the opportunity to connect with just a small sample of M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust grantees and some of the individuals whose lives were positively impacted through their work. We are inspired by each of these organizations and all of our grantees who work to serve the common good of the Pacific Northwest through innovative projects and programs. In addition, we are humbled and incredibly grateful to those who were willing to share their stories with us to help encourage individuals and families to continue in their support and service of the organizations making a positive difference in our local communities every day.
