M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust

We celebrated Founder’s Day 2012 with many friends and colleagues in our local philanthropic and business community.
Thank you to everyone who visited, and we hope that you got a chance to connect with others at the event. We are excited to share the highlights and pictures from the event.
Founder’s Day is a chance for us to share the remarkable story of Jack Murdock’s stewardship and generosity. It is, too, a chance for us to say thank you to all of you!
Keisha Gordon, one of our 2012 interns so graciously led our time together by reminding us about what Founder’s day is all about. It is a time to celebrate the mission and values Jack Murdock, established with the founding of the Trust from his estate. The Trust’s work began June 30, 1975 and since that time the Trust has awarded more than 4,750 grants to over 2,000 different organizations totaling more than $650,000,000. Our newly released 2011 annual report tells more.
Conner Peckham introduced our new staff at the event, Marnee Alfson, Finance and Administrative Services Coordinator, and Henry Hooper, Visiting Scholar. We also took a moment and recognized colleagues that are retiring and moving on to new adventures, Kathy Freitas, Executive Assistant, and Dave Coleman, Program Director. We also had an opportunity to introduce our 2012 interns, Keisha Gordon, Sagen Eatwell, Kaleb Nyquist, and Brianna Richards.
A special honor was given to Lyn Swanson for his 25 years of service as a board member of the Trust. It was a special time for so many reasons but not the least being the change to honor grantees and colleagues with whom we are privileged to partner from across the Northwest.
