M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust

In this season of thankfulness, we at the Murdock Trust have much to be grateful for. We are humbled and privileged to support the work of the nonprofits in our region, who make it their missions to build up society and improve the lives of people in their communities. Day after day, they put boots on the ground, dig their hands in the dirt, and tirelessly serve others.

Whether it’s giving children hands-on experience with science through interactive museum exhibits, providing quality healthcare to women in rural communities, bringing innovative dance performances to audiences around the region, or performing scientific research that brings vital breakthroughs for cancer treatment, the nonprofits in the Pacific Northwest add value to our lives that we could never capture in numbers. In ways seen and unseen, nonprofits change our lives for the better every day.

Author Elizabeth Gilbert sums it up best in her book Eat, Pray, Love: “In the end, though, maybe we must all give up trying to pay back the people in this world who sustain our lives. In the end, maybe it’s wiser to surrender before the miraculous scope of human generosity and to just keep saying thank you, forever and sincerely, for as long as we have voices.”

And so to all of those in the nonprofit sector who carry out this great work, we say, “Thank you!” We celebrate all that you give to others and express our sincerest gratitude to you, knowing that we and the communities you serve could never pay you back for all that you do.
