Change is a constant in the nonprofit sector, and at the Murdock Trust, we've learned to embrace it as an opportunity for continuous improvement. Over the past year, we've been thoughtfully evaluating how our team structure can better serve the organizations we support while making best use of our team’s talents.
Today, we're excited to share one new addition to our team and a handful of staffing updates that reflect both strategic refinements to our approach and our continued investment in building a strong team.

- We are thrilled to welcome Valentina Chau as our Event & Hospitality Planner. Valentina brings over five years of experience managing events and program operations in the nonprofit sector, including coordinating national training events for 150+ attendees and managing complex multi-day gatherings with full logistics coordination. She brings this extensive experience, combined with a genuine passion for community impact and mission-driven work, to provide critical coordination and support across all Murdock Trust events.
- Colby Reade will now serve as Vice President, External Affairs & Strategy. Colby's expanded role, building on eight years leading communications at the Trust and more recently driving rhythm of business and strategy, encompasses leadership over five key business functions at the Trust: Communications, Events, Programs, Partnerships, and Strategy.
- Kimberly Thornbury, Ph.D. has transitioned to the role of Vice President, Programs & Partnerships. Pulling on her extensive experience in education, leadership development, and capacity building within the social sector, Kimberly will directly oversee strategic and operational execution of Trust programming. Kimberly will also nurture and grow the Trust's advisory ecosystem and cultivate partnerships that advance the Trust's mission to serve nonprofits.
- Hannah Pick moves into the role of Program Manager, Programs & Partnerships. Hannah will continue managing core Trust programs while providing operational and programming support for Trust partnerships in collaboration with the Vice President, Programs & Partnerships.
- Mikaela Tidland has assumed the role of Business Operations Associate. In this role, Mikaela will continue overseeing the front desk, daily office operations, and hospitality services for guests using the Trust's meeting spaces. She will also manage critical business system processes supporting grant payments, expense management, and other essential functions.
Please join us in celebrating these staffing changes, which reflect the incredible dedication and growth of our team, and in welcoming Valentina to the Murdock Trust!
